MEET OUR TEACHERS
Hello I am Heather Young, the owner of Star Strong Dance Company. I have been dancing since the age of 3. I have been teaching since I was 14. Dance is my passion! My goal in teaching is to empower each child with confidence, good work ethics and to never give up. Because we are all Star Strong!
Sandy’s passion for dance began at a young age, training at prestigious studios across North Carolina. She started her journey at Judy Baylin Dance Studio in Clemmons (1974–1975) before honing her skills at Lummie Jo & Bobbi's School of Dance in Lexington (1975–1980). She continued her training at Dorminy's in Winston-Salem (1981–1982) and Dancer's Theatre in Lexington (1982–1983), building a strong foundation in technique and performance.
Sandy’s professional career includes co-owning and teaching at SanSher's Studio of Dance in Lexington (1989–1991), as well as teaching at SanSher's at YMCA Rowan County (1993–1994). Most recently, she shared her love for dance with the community through Dance Dreams (2014–2023).
With decades of experience as both a student and teacher, Sandy brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication, and creativity to every class. Her mission is to inspire dancers of all ages to grow, explore, and discover the joy of movement.
My name Maggie Schreiber. I have been dancing since the age of 3. I danced competitively from 8 through high school and was able to compete in college with St. Ambrose University. Through high school and college I have won numerous awards including collegiate national championships. I have been teaching dance for the last 7 years including coaching a high school dance team for the last four years. I can’t wait to help your dancer grow into a strong, technical and confident dancer.
June has been teaching dance for 4 years now, having started recreationally at the age of 14. She has competed since the age of 14 as well, winning multiple national awards during her time. She is super excited for this dance year to start and looks forward to improving technique, styles, and confidence!
Cadence Hamilton is a contemporary choreographer with 16 years of dance experience. Her work is rooted in years of training and performance, with a focus on honest, expressive movement. Cadence continues to grow her craft, creating pieces that connect with dancers and audiences alike.
